Personal Data and Information

New Horizon Mediation Services Ltd will undertake to ensure that any personal data or information relating to your mediation is managed in accordance with the data protection regulation.  We will never share your data or information without your permission except in circumstances as set out below. 

We will not share your personal data or information with any third party for any purpose.  We kindly request you give your written consent to the following by signing at the bottom of the page and returning this to the Mediator:-


  1. In the event of a complaint that is referred to the mediator’s membership organisation or to any other regulator or relevant complaints handling organisation, you agree that we can release any information or your file for the purpose of resolving the complaint.


  1. For the purposes of professional and quality assurance standards that the mediation’s practice consultant may have sight of the file on a strictly controlled and confidential basis.


  1. That information you provide to us regarding harm to you or to another person may need to be shared with the appropriate safeguarding agency. The mediator will always discuss this with you in the event this occurs.


  1. We are unable to keep confidentiality of information where there is an over-riding obligation in law or regulation that requires us to disclose information.


What personal data the website collects and why we collect it



When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
